On Monday, September 21, ahead of Saudi National Day, which falls on Wednesday, September 23, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Warsaw hosted a commemorative reception. Among the guests were Daria and Olga Kołacz, who were born conjoined twins. Given the significance of the event, their presence highlights the important role they play in building relations between Saudi Arabia and Poland and, indirectly, in promoting the Kuyavia region.
September 23 is a symbolic date for Saudis, as it commemorates the establishment of the first independent state under the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727.
Daria and Olga Kołacz were born conjoined twins and were successfully separated by Saudi doctors in 2005. The operation was funded by Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the Crown Prince.
Ambassadors from other Asian countries were also among the guests at the reception.
